Moyamoya disease

Moyamoya disease is a known adverse event associated with COVID-19 vaccines.[1]

History

Pfizer identified Moyamoya disease as an adverse event of special interest to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in their post-marketing surveillance report as of February 28, 2021.[1:1]

On July 7, 2023, mixed martial artist Josiah Harrell was diagnosed with Moyamoya disease shortly before his scheduled debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).[2]
