Charu Kaushic is a Canadian medical researcher. She is chair of the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R), scientific director of the CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity (III), Professor in the McMaster University Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, and a member of the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAR) Steering Committee.[1]
History
During the declared COVID-19 pandemic, Kaushic was “closely involved in shaping CIHR’s research response” and served on the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force.
Kaushic attended an event called "2019 novel Coronavirus Global research and innovation forum: towards a research roadmap" hosted on February 11-12, 2020 by GloPID-R and the World Health Organization's R&D Blueprint.[2] She was a signatory to the WHO's "Public statement for collaboration on COVID-19 vaccine development," published April 13, 2020.[3]
On October 18, 2021, Kaushic delivered a presentation to Cochrane on the subject of pandemic preparedness and her work with GloPID-R.[4]
