The European Commission is a supranational government organization serving as the executive branch of the European Union.

History

Between 2018 and 2023, the European Commission prepared for the rollout of a "common vaccination card/passport for EU citizens."[1]

COVID-19

On June 5, 2023, the European Commission announced that the EU Digital COVID Certificate would be expanded to worldwide use in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO).[2]
