Althea House is a Canadian public health official based in Ottawa, Ontario. She is a senior manager at the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and former manager of the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).[1][2]
History
House worked as a nurse practitioner at Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre from 2003-2006.[1:1]
House was a member of the Clinical Care Working Group of PHAC's Centre for Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control (CIDPC), where she contributed to the 2006 edition of the Canadian Pandemic Influenza Plan for the Health Sector.[3]
From July 2007 to July 2017, House served as manager of the seasonal and pandemic influenza team of nurses, epidemiologists and physicians at PHAC.[1:2]
In July 2017, House became manager of NACI.[2:1] House participated on the World Health Organization's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization in 2018.[4]
COVID-19
On February 24, 2020, House presented at the Fourth Global NITAG Network (GNN) meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, acting as GNN Chair.[5][6]
House left her NACI role in March 2020 to become associate director at PHAC, and then senior manager in October 2021.[1:3]
