Nick Cordero

Nicholas Eduardo Alberto Cordero was a Canadian actor and singer.

COVID-19

Cordero reportedly felt fatigued on March 20, 2020, spending almost a week in bed before fainting on March 26. He went to urgent care, and was told to return in four days if he still didn't feel better.[1]

Cordero was diagnosed with pneumonia in Los Angeles in March 2020.[2] He was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on March 30 after his breathing became labored.[3] He tested negative for COVID-19, but was admitted to the intensive care unit the following day nonetheless. He was offered hydroxychloroquine.[4]

His condition worsened and he was marked as being in "critical condition," leading his doctors to put him into a medically-induced coma and place him on a ventilator. He was then enrolled in the clinical trial for remdesivir, which was taking place at Cedars-Sinai.[5]

On April 18, 2020, his right leg was amputated due to a blood clot as a result of complications from his illness.[6][7] By May 1, 2020, he had major lung damage including "holes in his lungs" and lung scarring.[8] A tracheostomy tube was inserted to help him breathe.[9]

On July 5, 2020, after 95 days in the hospital, Cordero died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, at age 41.[10] His body was cremated.[11]
