Michael Kane

Michael Kane is an American teacher and activist based in New York. He is the founder of Teachers for Choice and Director of Advocacy for Children's Health Defense.[1][2] He previously worked for American Values 2024.[3]

History

On July 21, 2025, attorneys representing Kane from the Alliance Defending Freedom, Children's Health Defense and Nelson Madden Black filed a petition to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) to review lower court decisions around the firing of public workers in New York City who declined to take a COVID-19 vaccine on religions grounds.[4]

Kane and Children's Health Defense CEO Mary Holland co-authored a letter to United States Senator Bernie Moreno requesting his assistance in convening hearings in the United States Senate focused on workers across American fired for declining a COVID-19 vaccine.[2:1] The letter was sent July 23, 2025, and published by Teachers for Choice on July 29.[5]
