American Pharmacists Association

The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) is an American professional association based in Washington, D.C.

History

APhA participated as a partner in the COVID-19 Vaccine Education and Equity Project, formed in December 2020 to advertise and promote the forthcoming COVID-19 vaccine products.[1]

In the second quarter of 2021, APhA received a $202,000 grant from Pfizer to “support effective pharmacy based pneumococcal vaccine immunization services.”[2]

Organization

APhA has signed memoranda of understanding with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).[3] APhA is a member of the Adult Vaccine Access Coalition (AVAC),[4] the Alliance for a Stronger FDA[5] and the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies,[6] and a partner of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID).[7]

Activities

APhA has provided funding to the CDC Foundation.[8] It has also sponsored Needle Tips, a pro-vaccine newsletter published by the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC).[9]
