# Zymeworks

**Zymeworks** is a Canadian biotechnology company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company develops protein therapeutics for the treatment of cancer as well as for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

## History

In 2011, [Merck](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Merck) entered an agreement with Zymeworks to use their Azymetric™ platform for the development and commercialization of bispecific antibodies against targets in multiple therapeutic fields.[\[1\]](#fn1) The arrangement involved the joint development and improvement of the platform, as well as Merck taking the resulting novel antibody products through clinical development.[\[2\]](#fn2)
