# Vivek Ramaswamy

**Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy** is an American entrepreneur and political candidate. His brother is Shankar Ramaswamy, founder of Kriya Therapeutics.[\[1\]](#fn1)

## History

In 2011, Ramaswamy was awarded a post-graduate fellowship by the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans.[\[2\]](#fn2)[\[3\]](#fn3)

Ramaswamy founded [Roivant Sciences](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Roivant-Sciences), incorporated April 7, 2014 in Bermuda.[\[4\]](#fn4)[\[5\]](#fn5)

In January 2015, Ramaswamy was named Chairman of [Tekmira Pharmaceuticals](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Tekmira-Pharmaceuticals) after it merged with [OnCore Biopharma](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/OnCore-Biopharma).[\[6\]](#fn6)[\[7\]](#fn7)

### COVID-19

Ramaswamy stepped down as CEO of Roivant in January 2021.[\[8\]](#fn8)

Ramaswamy has appeared as a guest on The Roundtable Show.[\[9\]](#fn9)

Ramaswamy co-founded [Strive Asset Management](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Strive-Asset-Management) with Anson Frericks in 2022.[\[10\]](#fn10) The firm launched on May 9, 2022.[\[11\]](#fn11)

As of the end of 2022, Ramaswamy reportedly owned 10.9% of Roivant Sciences.[\[12\]](#fn12) On February 21, 2023, Roivant announced that Ramaswamy had stepped down from the company's board of directors in order to focus on his presidential campaign.[\[4:1\]](#fn4)
