# United Nations

The **United Nations** is a global supra-governmental organization based in New York City.

## History

On June 13, 2019, the United Nations and the [World Economic Forum](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/World-Economic-Forum) (WEF) signed a “Strategic Partnership Framework outlining areas of cooperation to deepen institutional engagement and jointly accelerate the implementation of the [2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/2030-Agenda-for-Sustainable-Development).”[\[1\]](#fn1)

## Organization

The UN is organized through the United Nations System, which includes its six principal bodies, specialized agencies and related organizations.[\[2\]](#fn2)
