**Twitter**, officially known as **X**, is an American social media platform based in San Francisco, California. It is a subsidiary of X Corp., itself a subsidiary of X Holdings Corp., owned by Elon Musk.

## History

Twitter participated as a partner in the [This Is Our Shot](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/This-Is-Our-Shot) mass advertising campaign for [COVID-19 vaccines](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/COVID-19-vaccine), which launched in April 2021.[\[1\]](#fn1)[\[2\]](#fn2)

Twitter reportedly declined to publish any paid advertisements for [Robert F. Kennedy Jr.](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Robert-F-Kennedy-Jr)'s book, *[The Real Anthony Fauci](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/The-Real-Anthony-Fauci),* published by [Skyhorse Publishing](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Skyhorse-Publishing) in November 2021.[\[3\]](#fn3)
