# The Ring Alliance of Policy Research Organizations

**The Ring Alliance of Policy Research Organizations** was a research and advocacy initiative between 13 organizations focused on sustainable development.[\[1\]](#fn1) Its member organizations represented groups from Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Chile, India, Iran, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.[\[2\]](#fn2)

## History

The Ring Alliance was founded in 1991 in the buildup to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), scheduled for June 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[\[1:1\]](#fn1)
