# Steve Bannon

**Stephen Kevin Bannon** is an American media figure and political strategist.

## History

In 2017, Bannon founded Citizens of the American Republic.[\[1\]](#fn1)

In August 2017, Bannon met with [Guo Wengui](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Guo-Wengui) at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, D.C. In 2018, Bannon signed a year-long deal for consulting services in exchange for $1 million. In late 2018, the pair launched the [Rule of Law Foundation](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Rule-of-Law-Foundation) and the Rule of Law Society.[\[2\]](#fn2)[\[3\]](#fn3)

### COVID-19

In April 2020, Guo and Bannon co-founded GTV Media Group.[\[4\]](#fn4)

On June 4, 2020, Guo and Bannon live-streamed an announcement of the launch of the [New Federal State of China](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/New-Federal-State-of-China).[\[5\]](#fn5)

In April 2023, Bannon suggested that he, U.S. President Donald Trump and Guo Wengui were all indicted for criticizing the Chinese government.[\[6\]](#fn6)
