# Operation VECTOR

**Operation VECTOR** is a Canadian [COVID-19 vaccine](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/COVID-19-vaccine) rollout program run by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Its goal is to assist federal, provincial and territorial governments, including Indigenous Services Canada, the [Public Health Agency of Canada](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Public-Health-Agency-of-Canada) (PHAC) and Public Safety Canada, in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.[\[1\]](#fn1)[\[2\]](#fn2)

## History

Operation VECTOR was announced on November 27, 2020\. Major-General Dany Fortin was seconded to PHAC to serve as vice president of logistics and operations, joined on his team by Brigadiers-General Simon Bernard and Krista Brodie.[\[2:1\]](#fn2)

Between December 12 and 15, 2020, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) delivered five medical-grade low-temperature freezers to two northern territories via a CC-130J Hercules aircraft.[\[1:1\]](#fn1)

CAF members provided support to a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Laval Sports Centre in Laval, Quebec in January 2022.[\[3\]](#fn3)

## Participants

A team from CAF was assigned to work with PHAC on its Vaccine Roll-out Task Force.[\[1:2\]](#fn1)
