Office of the Superintendent of Health Profession and Occupation Oversight

The Office of the Superintendent of Health Profession and Occupation Oversight (OSHPO), also known as the Health Professions and Occupations Regulatory Oversight Office (HPOROO), is a Canadian provincial government agency within the British Columbia Ministry of Health.
History
On June 23, 2023, private regulatory consulting firm The Regulator's Practice began work on a $100,000 directly-awarded, sole source contract from the British Columbia Ministry of Health to "develop draft policies and procedures for the Office of the Superintendent of Health Profession and Occupation Oversight to consider when appointed."[1]
Brian Westgate began working as Acting Executive Director of OSHPO in May 2024, with the British Columbia Ministry of Health announcing his appointment the following month.[2][3] Sherri Young was announced as the founding Superintendent of Health Profession and Occupation Oversight on June 7, 2024.[4][5] She began working in this new position in August 2024.[6]
On June 18, 2025, Westgate revealed that he had been promoted to Deputy Superintendent of OSPHO.[7]
