**Marc Tessier-Lavigne** is a Canadian-American neuroscientist who previously served as President of Stanford University.

He is a member of the [Council on Foreign Relations](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Council-on-Foreign-Relations) (CFR).[\[1\]](#fn1)

## History

Tessier-Lavigne announced on July 19, 2023 that he would resign as President of Stanford University effective August 31st due to "manipulation of research data" found by a Stanford-sponsored investigation into his scientific publications.[\[2\]](#fn2)
