It operates under the [Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Johns-Hopkins-Bloomberg-School-of-Public-Health). ## History The JHCHS co-hosted a pandemic preparedness exercise called [Event 201](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Event-201) in New York City on October 18, 2019, in partnership with the [Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Bill-&-Melinda-Gates-Foundation) and the [World Economic Forum](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/World-Economic-Forum).[\[1\]](#fn1) ### COVID-19 The [Chan Zuckerberg Initiative](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Chan-Zuckerberg-Initiative) and the Rockefeller Foundation provided funding to the JHCHS to host [CommuniVax](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/CommuniVax), a research project working to increase uptake of [COVID-19 vaccines](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/COVID-19-vaccine) among Black and Hispanic/Latino Americans.[\[2\]](#fn2) CommuniVax was run in partnership with the Texas State University Department of Anthropology.[\[3\]](#fn3) On May 25, 2021, the Rockefeller Foundation announced a $400,000 grant for the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security to “identify and showcase successful country responses to COVID-19,” as part of the Exemplars in Global Health program.
