She "represented manufacturers and trading companies in their relationships with many of the largest retailers across North America, Europe, and the Middle East."[\[3:3\]](#fn3) Carano and her husband, Philip Nordenström, moved to Hillsdale, New York after working together for many years as international consultants.[\[3:4\]](#fn3) She is currently running for a position on the Hillsdale Town Board.
