## History

GETTR was launched on July 4, 2021 by Jason Miller, a former aide to President Donald Trump.[\[1\]](#fn1)

On September 18, 2022, GETTR had $2,745,377.75 USD seized from an account at M&T Bank in relation to an indictment against [Guo Wengui](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Guo-Wengui) and [William Je](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/William-Je).[\[2\]](#fn2)
