# Elections Canada

**Elections Canada**, formally the **Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada**, is an agency of the [Government of Canada](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Government-of-Canada) responsible for administering elections in the country. It is an office of the Parliament of Canada.

## Activities

Elections Canada operates an Environmental Monitoring Centre which "monitors publicly available social media and digital content for information about the federal electoral process."[\[2\]](#fn2) It shares analyses of the information collected with its security partners, which include:[\[3\]](#fn3)

- Canadian Centre for Cyber Security
- Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS)
- Communications Security Establishment (CSE)
- Global Affairs Canada
- Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections
- Public Safety Canada
- Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
