# Cyber Threat Alliance

The **Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA)** is an American 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization based in Arlington, Virginia.

## History

CTA was founded by Check Point Software Technologies, Cisco, Fortinet, McAffee, Palo Alto Networks and Symantec.[\[1\]](#fn1)

On June 6, 2023, the CTA announced it had received a grant from Craig Newmark Philanthropies “to create joint reports on cyber threats and mitigation.”[\[1:1\]](#fn1)
