It was formed in April 2021 in order to recruit influential individuals and organizations to promote [COVID-19 vaccines](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/COVID-19-vaccine). It was part of the [HHS COVID-19 Public Education Campaign](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/HHS-COVID-19-Public-Education-Campaign). ## History HHS announced the formation of the COVID-19 Community Corps on April 1, 2021.[\[1\]](#fn1) On April 19, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking records about the Corps.[\[2\]](#fn2) After HHS failed to respond, Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit to compel the lawful release of the requested records. Over a year later on October 4, 2022, Judicial Watch announced that it received 249 pages of records from HHS.[\[3\]](#fn3) ## Members There were “nearly 17,000 organizations and individuals across the United States” who participated as members in the Corps.[\[4\]](#fn4) Founding members include: -
