# CommuniVax

**CommuniVax** is an American research initiative based at the [Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Johns-Hopkins-Center-for-Health-Security) and the Texas State University Department of Anthropology. It describes itself as "a national coalition of social scientists, public health experts, and community advocates" working to increase uptake of [COVID-19 vaccines](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/COVID-19-vaccine) among Black and Hispanic/Latino Americans.[\[1\]](#fn1)
