# College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta

The **College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)** is a Canadian provincial regulatory body in the province of Alberta. It is based in Edmonton, Alberta.

## History

On October 7, 2021, the CPSA published a document titled "Ivermectin: Guidance for Physicians".[\[1\]](#fn1) It instructed doctors in Alberta not to use ivermectin to treat COVID-19, and to encourage patients to receive a [COVID-19 vaccine](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/COVID-19-vaccine).[\[2\]](#fn2)

CPSA suffered "a network outage" in July 2023, preventing access to its website, staff e-mail and other services.[\[3\]](#fn3)
