# Citizens for Primary Care

**Citizens for Primary Care**, also known as **Citizens for Direct Care**, is an American advocacy-based non-profit organization affiliated with the [Direct Primary Care Society](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Direct-Primary-Care-Society) (DPCS).[\[1\]](#fn1)

## History

According to the DPCS website, Citizens for Primary Care/Citizens for Direct Care began operations in the summer of 2024.[\[1:1\]](#fn1) A similar effort called the [Patient First Coalition](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Patient-First-Coalition) was initiated at the same time, subsequently announcing its launch on January 29, 2025.[\[2\]](#fn2)[\[3\]](#fn3)
