It is an independent Canadian chapter of [Children's Health Defense](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Childrens-Health-Defense). ## History The domain name "childrenshealthdefense.ca" was registered anonymously on April 30, 2019.[\[3\]](#fn3) On October 16, 2020, Children's Health Defence Canada was incorporated in the Province of Ontario as a not-for-profit corporation.[\[1:1\]](#fn1) The organization was incorporated at the federal level on April 22, 2021.[\[2:1\]](#fn2) ### Rocco Galati mandate lawsuit On August 26, 2021, Michael Palmer sent an email blast to administrators at the University of Waterloo calling for the repeal of COVID-19 testing and vaccine mandates. The letter included a note claiming that CHD Canada was "preparing a lawsuit against all universities and colleges (including UW) which have issued these illegal vaccination and testing mandates" in "cooperation with lawyers [Rocco Galati](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Rocco-Galati) and Amina Sherazee of the [Constitutional Rights Centre](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Constitutional-Rights-Centre)."[\[4\]](#fn4) Four days later, CHD Canada hosted a Zoom meeting to discuss the lawsuit, describes as "coordinated by CHD and will be filed by lawyer Rocco Galati." A memo was created containing instructions for students to join the suit, which involved setting up a one-on-one meeting with Galati. Prospective plaintiffs were instructed to be prepared to pay $2,000 towards the cost of the lawsuit, with the possibility of being "on the hook for another payment of up to $2,000 dollars" if "the rule of the law is not restored and Rocco loses."
