# CCOUC for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response

The **Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC)** is an academic research organization based in Hong Kong. It was founded as a partnership between the University of Oxford and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and is housed at the Chinese University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine.

## History

CCOUC Director Emily Chan was invited to participate in a February 11-12, 2020 event titled “[2019 novel Coronavirus Global research and innovation forum: towards a research roadmap](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/2019-novel-Coronavirus-Global-research-and-innovation-forum-towards-a-research-roadmap)” co-hosted by the [World Health Organization](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/World-Health-Organization)'s R&D Blueprint and the [Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Global-Research-Collaboration-for-Infectious-Disease-Preparedness) (GloPID-R). She and Nina Gobat presented on the topic of “Integrating social sciences in the outbreak response”.[\[1\]](#fn1)
