# British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal

The **British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal (BCHRT)** is a quasi-judicial body of the [Government of British Columbia](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Government-of-British-Columbia) based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is responsible for accepting, screening, mediating and adjudicating human rights complaints.[\[1\]](#fn1)

## History

On March 21, 2022, the BCHRT enacted an emergency pause on processing complaints related to face mask requirements. It went into effect on March 31, 2022 until further notice.[\[2\]](#fn2)
