# American Pharmacists Association

The **American Pharmacists Association (APhA)** is an American professional association based in Washington, D.C.

## History

APhA participated as a partner in the [COVID-19 Vaccine Education and Equity Project](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Champions-for-Vaccine-Education-Equity-and-Progress), formed in December 2020 to advertise and promote the forthcoming [COVID-19 vaccine](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/COVID-19-vaccine) products.[\[1\]](#fn1)

In the second quarter of 2021, APhA received a $202,000 grant from [Pfizer](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Pfizer) to “support effective pharmacy based pneumococcal vaccine immunization services.”[\[2\]](#fn2)

## Organization

APhA has signed memoranda of understanding with the [Food and Drug Administration](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Food-and-Drug-Administration) (FDA).[\[3\]](#fn3) APhA is a member of the [Adult Vaccine Access Coalition](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Adult-Vaccine-Access-Coalition) (AVAC),[\[4\]](#fn4) the [Alliance for a Stronger FDA](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Alliance-for-a-Stronger-FDA)[\[5\]](#fn5) and the [Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Alliance-for-Safe-Online-Pharmacies),[\[6\]](#fn6) and a partner of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID).[\[7\]](#fn7)

## Activities

APhA has provided funding to the [CDC Foundation](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/CDC-Foundation).[\[8\]](#fn8) It has also sponsored *Needle Tips*, a pro-vaccine newsletter published by the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC).[\[9\]](#fn9)
