# American Academy of Physician Assistants

The **American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA)**, also known as the **American Academy of Physician Associates**, is an American professional association based in Alexandria, Virginia.

## History

AAPA participated as a member of the [COVID-19 Vaccine Education and Equity Project](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Champions-for-Vaccine-Education-Equity-and-Progress) during the declared COVID-19 pandemic.[\[1\]](#fn1)

In the first quarter of 2021, AAPA received a $195,500 grant from [Pfizer](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Pfizer) for a project titled “Itching for Relief: Atopic Dermatitis Management Considerations for PAs and NPs.”[\[2\]](#fn2)
