# Althea House

**Althea House** is a Canadian public health official based in Ottawa, Ontario. She is a senior manager at the [Public Health Agency of Canada](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Public-Health-Agency-of-Canada) (PHAC) and former manager of the [National Advisory Committee on Immunization](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/National-Advisory-Committee-on-Immunization) (NACI).[\[1\]](#fn1)[\[2\]](#fn2)

## History

House worked as a nurse practitioner at Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre from 2003-2006.[\[1:1\]](#fn1)

House was a member of the Clinical Care Working Group of PHAC's Centre for Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control (CIDPC), where she contributed to the 2006 edition of the *Canadian Pandemic Influenza Plan for the Health Sector*.[\[3\]](#fn3)

From July 2007 to July 2017, House served as manager of the seasonal and pandemic influenza team of nurses, epidemiologists and physicians at PHAC.[\[1:2\]](#fn1)

In July 2017, House became manager of NACI.[\[2:1\]](#fn2) House participated on the [World Health Organization](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/World-Health-Organization)'s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization in 2018.[\[4\]](#fn4)

### COVID-19

On February 24, 2020, House presented at the Fourth Global NITAG Network (GNN) meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, acting as GNN Chair.[\[5\]](#fn5)[\[6\]](#fn6)

House left her NACI role in March 2020 to become associate director at PHAC, and then senior manager in October 2021.[\[1:3\]](#fn1)
