# AHS Emergency Coordination Centre

The **AHS Emergency Coordination Centre** was a specialized working group of [Alberta Health Services](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/Alberta-Health-Services) (AHS) that oversaw the activities of the [AHS COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Group](https://www.whiteroseintelligence.com/AHS-COVID-19-Scientific-Advisory-Group).[\[1\]](#fn1)

## History

Alberta Health Services set up the Emergency Coordination Centre in January 2020, even before the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic.[\[2\]](#fn2)

In July 2021, the ECC transitioned into the Readiness & Recovery Centre.[\[3\]](#fn3) This involved the creation of the AHS Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) Post COVID-19 Taskforce.[\[4\]](#fn4)
