# Advisory Council on Economic Growth

The **Advisory Council on Economic Growth (ACEG)** is a Canadian advisory group operating under the Department of Finance Canada.

Its purpose is to advise Canada's Minister of Finance on creating conditions for long-term growth, including the development of a “robust growth strategy designed to provide higher living standards and greater opportunity for the middle class and those working hard to join it.”

## History

The ACEG was announced by Finance Minister Bill Morneau on March 18, 2016.[\[1\]](#fn1)
